Malawi’s health sector has been struck by shock and grief following reports that distinguished Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Victoria Bobe, was killed by armed robbers.
Dr. Bobe served as a senior consultant at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and was also a lecturer at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS).
According to reports, she was attacked by armed assailants, an assault that tragically led to her death.
Colleagues and health professionals have described Dr. Bobe as a dedicated specialist who devoted her life to saving the lives of mothers and babies.
She was also deeply committed to mentoring young doctors, shaping the next generation of medical professionals in Malawi.
Her passing is being mourned as a profound loss to both the medical fraternity and the nation as a whole.
Dr. Bobe’s legacy of service, compassion, and mentorship will be remembered and honored by those who knew her and by the countless lives she touched.
