Police gear up for peaceful campaign period in Mangochi

The Mangochi Police Station is preparing to ensure a safe and peaceful campaign period as the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) launches the official campaign season next week.
Speaking with Malawiana Times,Mangochi Police Spokesperson Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi,says the police are intensifying patrols and deploying officers to rallies, meetings, and hotspots to guarantee security and rapid response to incidents.

“The police are taking a proactive approach, engaging with political party representatives, traditional leaders, and civil society through community policing to promote peaceful coexistence and adherence to the law”Daudi added.
Standby rapid response teams have been formed, and intelligence units are on high alert to monitor and prevent potential threats.
Daudi assures the public that the police will remain impartial and take swift action against anyone who breaches the law.
The police are urging political players and followers to refrain from violence and hate speech, promoting a peaceful and respectful campaign period.
