President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has urged Malawians to continue placing their faith in God, seeking His guidance and wisdom in all aspects of life.

Speaking during a Sunday worship service at Monkey Bay Assemblies of God in Mangochi, President Chakwera emphasised the importance of upholding spiritual values and focusing on matters that benefit the nation, especially as Malawi approaches the general elections in September this year.

He encouraged citizens to look beyond personal interests and work towards improving the welfare of others, fostering a spirit of unity and collective progress.

“I want to encourage Malawians to put God first in all aspects of our lives, because it is through this that we cultivate a sense of purpose and morality. As the nation prepares for elections, let us focus on issues that benefit the greater good and promote peace and unity,” said Chakwera.

The President also highlighted the power of prayer, describing it as a vital tool in overcoming national challenges and securing a better future for the country.

In his remarks, Resident Pastor for Monkey Bay Assemblies of God, Reverend Alexander Chirwa, said President Chakwera’s presence at the service signified his deep commitment to his faith and his willingness to worship alongside fellow believers.

He added that the church would continue to pray for the President and the First Lady, especially for their good health.

In his sermon, Reverend Chirwa spoke on the journey of life, urging congregants to remain steadfast despite spiritual challenges. He reminded them that God has a purpose for every individual.

Monkey Bay Assemblies of God, established in 1990, currently has over 500 registered members. Reverend Chirwa is the 12th resident pastor to serve the church since its founding.
