Seasoned journalist and dedicated member of the MCP Media Team Dickson Kashoti, has come out from silence to speak nothing but the truth calling for the need of the whole MCP to be overhauled if the party is to bounce back in government in 2030.
Kashoti has warned the MCP that if the decision of endorsing the 6TH President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera still stands that he is to lead the party and subsequently becoming its torch bearer, the chances seem slimmer according to the polls of the 16th September, 2025.
Writing on his face book page, Kashoti said as of now, there is laissez faire attitude in the party, everyone does what it pleases him saying even the party president Dr. Lazarus Chakwera seems to be detached from the party that propelled him into power in June, 2020.
Kashoti said he is being told that President Chakwera is in Dubai or wherever he is for holiday describing him that he has been like that since he took office as party president- politically passive, lukewarm, and indecisiveness.
He said MCP is now back in opposition observing that in Parliament, they are as stupid as before and outside Parliament, they are the laughing stock and inside the party, there is infighting and factions yet the party is doing nothing probably praying that everything will evaporate in thin air.
“In MCP, we should admit, we elected a passive leader who chose a passive leader of opposition,” reads Kashoti’s writings on the wall.
However, cables from another faction of MCP Media Team have written a counter- attacking those seeking to destabilize the party leadership under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera describing their intention as dangerous, and well- funded narratives being deliberately pushed by a clique of MCP members.
The cables have also described the scheme as not organized, not principled and is not about reform saying it is about greed, wounded egos and naked personal ambition dismissing claims that the MCP lost power solely because of President Chakwera.
It said loudly and honestly that Simplex Chthyola Banda is “weak and dull” is political jealousy saying in the current MCP parliamentary crop, Chithyola Banda is standing head and shoulders above many of his critics.
‘Many of those attacking Chithyola Banda failed to win their own parliamentary seats, the campaign against President Chakwera is not about party renewal ideology, it is about selfish ambition, setting personal scores, and power without legitimacy,” reads part of the cables.
The cables have finally warned MCP members not to be misled by sponsored social media propaganda, self- anointed reformists, and political failures seeking shortcuts to power saying real change does not come from confusion, lies and character assassinations, it comes from unity, discipline, and constitutionalism, that is the MCP way.
