Minister of Gender, Children, Disability, and Social Welfare, Mary Thom Navicha, has urged Malawians to show love and kindness to one another during this Christmas season and as they welcome the new year, emphasizing the importance of compassion and empathy.
Navicha made the appeal on December 25th during a food distribution event organized by Bishop Abraham Simama of Glorious Light International Church, where 1000 vulnerable individuals from various parts of Lilongwe received support, highlighting the church’s efforts to help those in need.

The Minister stressed that love should be at the forefront of everyone’s actions, citing Jesus’ commandment to love one’s neighbor as oneself, encouraging Malawians to prioritize kindness and understanding.
Bishop Simama praised Minister Navicha for her work in advancing the welfare of children and people with disabilities, acknowledging her commitment to social welfare.
Simama emphasized that true love is demonstrated through actions, not just words, highlighting the importance of tangible efforts to support those in need.
The event showcased the power of collaboration between government and faith-based organizations in addressing social issues and promoting community welfare.
By showing love and kindness, Malawians can create a more compassionate and supportive society, reflecting the values of the Christmas season.
