Christmas celebrations at Kukuye Amusement Park in Lilongwe will take on a spiritual and family-focused tone this year, with award-winning gospel musician Theresa Phondo set to headline the festivities on December 25, 2025.
Rather than focusing solely on rides and entertainment, the park’s management says this year’s programme is designed to capture the deeper message of Christmas faith, unity and shared joy.
Phondo’s live performance is expected to anchor the day’s activities, offering visitors a blend of worship and celebration in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Kukuye Amusement Park Marketing Manager Elizabeth Nyanja said the choice of a gospel artist was intentional, noting that Christmas is more than just a holiday.
She explained that Phondo’s music resonates with themes of hope, gratitude and togetherness, which align with the spirit the park wants to promote during the festive season.
Phondo welcomed the invitation, describing the Christmas Day performance as an opportunity to celebrate with families in a meaningful way.
She said music has the power to bring people closer and reflect on the purpose of the season, adding that performing at Kukuye on Christmas Day is special to her.
Beyond the music, visitors can expect a full day of festive attractions, including discounted rides under a “buy four, get one free” promotion starting at K5,700 per round.
Children will also be treated to visits from Santa Claus and gift giveaways, adding to the family-friendly atmosphere.
Kukuye Amusement Park is situated in Area 54, Lumbadzi, along the M1 Road near the Kamuzu International Airport junction, and is positioning itself as a key destination for Christmas Day celebrations in the capital.
