Popular South African DJ Warras Shot Dead Near Carlton Centre

South Africa’s entertainment industry is in mourning following the fatal shooting of popular DJ and media personality DJ Warras in the Johannesburg Central Business District on Monday.

According to reports, DJ Warras, whose real name is Warrick Stock, was gunned down near the Carlton Centre after parking his vehicle.

Witnesses say he was approached by three unknown suspects who opened fire before fleeing the scene on foot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed that a murder case has been opened and investigations are ongoing. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the motive for the killing remains unclear.



DJ Warras was a well-known figure in South African media and entertainment. He previously worked as a radio and television presenter, with stints at platforms such as 5FM and CliffCentral.

Beyond broadcasting, he was also involved in business ventures, including the security and VIP protection sector.
