Bullets Push Back to the Summit as Chirwa Hails Competitive Spirit in TNM Super League

By Rahim Abdul
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets assistant coach Gilbert Chirwa says every team in the TNM Super League enters each season with a strong desire to excel.and his side is no exception.
Chirwa made the remarks after Bullets registered a crucial 2–0 victory over Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe, a win that has pushed the defending champions back to the top of the league standings.
Chirwa explained that the level of competition in the league continues to rise every year, making each fixture a test of character.

He said Bullets traveled from Blantyre with a clear mission to collect all six points from their two assignments, the first of which has now been successfully completed as they look ahead to meeting Creck Sporting Club later this week.
The match against Kamuzu Barracks saw Bullets’ top scorers, Chikumbutso Salima and Babatunde Adepoju, continue their impressive form. Both players struck in the first half, each reaching 13 goals for the season and further strengthening their lead in the golden boot race.
Their clinical performance highlighted Bullets’ attacking depth at a crucial stage of the campaign.
The victory has lifted Bullets to 56 points after 24 matches, with rivals Mighty Wanderers closely trailing in second place with 55 points from 23 games. With the title race tightening, Chirwa believes consistency will be key as the season enters its final stages.
Meanwhile, Kamuzu Barracks head coach Nickolas Mhango admitted that conceding two early goals affected his team’s confidence and disrupted their game plan.
Mhango noted that despite regrouping in the second half, the damage had already been done by Bullets’ early dominance.
Elsewhere in the league, MAFCO FC boosted their survival hopes by defeating Civil Service United 2–0 at Champion Stadium in Mponela, Dowa.
The victory helped lift MAFCO out of the relegation zone, giving them renewed belief as the season nears its conclusion.
