Goshen City Launches Nationwide Talent Hunt to Uncover Hidden Football Stars

By Rahim Abdul
Goshen City Dedza Dynamos is taking bold steps to address challenges on and off the pitch as the TNM Super League season enters its final stretch.
The club has announced a nationwide scouting initiative aimed at discovering undiscovered football talent in rural areas.
According to a statement signed by Aubrey Kusakala of the Shepherd Bushiri Foundation, the program called the Shepherd Bushiri Foundation Talent Scouting Football Bonanza is set to kick off on Saturday, 29 November, in Mchinji District.

Kusakala emphasized that Malawi is brimming with talented footballers, but many go unnoticed due to lack of exposure.
He expressed confidence that the talent hunt would not only benefit Goshen City Dedza Dynamos but also contribute to the growth of football across the country.
“Our country has many gifted footballers, but identifying and showcasing them has always been a challenge. We believe this initiative wil justl provide solutions and open doors for young talent nationwide,”the statement said.
The launch event in Mchinji promises a vibrant sporting atmosphere, featuring live matches including Boma Strikers vs Ludzi Hammers and Mchinji Villa vs Mkanda Youth, alongside performances by local artists Driemo and Lady Aika.
Club officials explained that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Goshen City Dedza Dynamos by integrating local talent capable of competing at the highest levels of Malawian football.
Aubrey Kusakala revealed that former Flames star Kinnah Phiri would spearhead the scouting effort, offering expertise in identifying promising players.
However, Kusakala stressed that the club remains open to recruiting talent from other teams within Malawi or abroad.
“This is not about replacing traditional player recruitment,” he said.
“It’s about giving players who lack exposure a fair chance. We can go to Nigeria to buy talent, yet in Ntchisi there are exceptional players we don’t even know about,”he added.
Currently, Goshen City Dedza Dynamos sits 14th on the league table with 24 points from 24 matches.
