Pemphero Mphande and Friends Foundation partners with Palliative Care Support Trust

Pemphero Mphande and Friends Foundation has partnered with the Palliative Care Support Trust, based at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH), to raise awareness and mobilize resources for patients battling terminal illnesses.

Speaking to journalists after the agreement signing ceremony on Tuesday in Blantyre,the foundation’s Chairperson, Pemphero Mphande, said the partnership will strengthen ongoing efforts to ensure Malawians facing serious health challenges are able to live dignified lives.



“Through this partnership, we will combine our networks and resources to improve the quality of life for people who are too often left to suffer in silence,” said Mphande.

He added that the agreement will also leverage his personal brand to mobilize funds through crowdfunding initiatives.

On his part,Palliative Care Support Trust Executive Director, Precious Kamange, noted that the organization, working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, provides holistic care to more than 5,000 terminally ill patients every year, both in hospitals and through home-based support.

“We want society to recognize that these patients are among us, and together with the Pemphero Mphande Foundation, we are committed to providing the support they need,” said Kamange.

He further appealed to well-wishers to contribute essentials such as food for patients on medical prescriptions and fuel for ambulances that often reach remote areas.

In recent years, the Pemphero Mphande Foundation has supported patients in accessing treatment both locally and abroad, including in India, Kenya, and South Korea.
