MCP rebuffs DPP criticism, focuses on serving citizens

By Shaffie A Mtambo
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Deputy Publicity Secretary Ken Msonda has dismissed criticism from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) over the country’s current state.
Msonda described DPP as a “criminal enterprise” driven by bitterness and hatred after being voted out of government.
Msonda’s response came after DPP National Women Director Mary Navicha claimed that Malawians are suffering under the MCP-led government, citing issues like hunger and high cost of living.

Navicha urged voters to support Professor Peter Mutharika in the September 16 polls.
However, Msonda emphasized that President Lazarus Chakwera is focused on serving the people and strengthening the party’s structures ahead of the elections.
He expressed confidence that Malawians will trust the MCP with a fresh mandate, dismissing DPP’s criticism as mere malice.
