Malawi Airlines backs Gwamba’s ‘Wanted Tour’ finale with K18 million sponsorship

Malawi Airlines has strengthened its support for the creative industry by sponsoring hip-hop star Gwamba’s ‘Wanted Tour’ grand finale with air tickets valued at K18 million.
The much-anticipated concert, set for 30 November, 2025, will feature renowned South African rapper Nasty C as the headlining international act.
The sponsorship package includes six economy-class and two business-class tickets for Nasty C and his seven-member entourage, facilitating their travel from South Africa to Malawi.

In an interview with journalists on Tuesday,the national carrier’s Public Relations Officer(PRO), Joseph Chikalipo, said the sponsorship underscores Malawi Airlines’ commitment to promoting the arts, tourism, and the broader creative economy.
“As Malawi’s flag carrier, we take pride in supporting initiatives that showcase local talent and promote tourism.
“Music has immense potential to drive economic growth, and we are delighted to play a role in that journey,” he said.
Expressing his appreciation, Gwamba commended Malawi Airlines for its timely support, saying the gesture will ease logistical costs and contribute to hosting a high-quality event.
“This kind of support motivates artists to dream bigger.I encourage other corporate players to invest in local talent because the growth of Malawi’s music industry depends on such partnerships,” he said.
The Wanted Tour finale marks the culmination of Gwamba’s nationwide performances and is expected to draw thousands of music fans, boosting both entertainment and tourism sectors.
