President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has instructed his newly appointed Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and Attorney General to prioritize service and deliver tangible results for Malawi. Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, the President stated that their appointments are a call to work, not a reward. He urged the officials to work with integrity and focus on transforming the economy through production and exports to create jobs and generate foreign exchange.

Mutharika announced that every constituency will receive K5 billion annually to ensure grassroots development and inclusive growth. He further challenged the cabinet to empower young people by integrating skills development into national projects, describing the youth as central to driving industrialization and innovation.

The President issued a strong warning against corruption, labeling it a cancer that drains public resources and undermines progress. He reminded the new leaders to demonstrate transparency and financial prudence, stating that every tambala of public funds must deliver value to citizens.

The President also directed the Attorney General to strengthen the legislative framework to promote accountability and protect national interests in government contracts. Emphasizing that leadership is a sacred trust, Mutharika pledged to monitor progress through monthly performance reports from each ministry. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah, Second Vice President Enock Chihana, senior government officials, and clergy.
